Why have it calibrated?
Regular inspections ensure safety
For scales used in commercial settings, legal requirements apply in many areas of application. According to Ministerial Decree 93/2017, all scales used in commercial settings must be inspected regularly.
The following inspection intervals apply:
- Every 3 years for non-automatic scales
- Every year for self-acting scales
- every 2 years for all other scales

When should the periodic inspection take place?
Check in a timely manner and avoid outages
The owner of the equipment is required to request a periodic inspection in the following cases:
- within 5 business days before the periodic inspection expires
- within 10 business days after a repair during which a protective seal was removed
- within 10 business days after the protective seals have been removed
Periodic inspections ensure that your scale’s metrological properties are maintained and that measurements remain accurate. Our team will notify you in a timely manner of upcoming inspections and, together with the service team, will assist you with preparations—from preliminary testing and static calibration to any necessary repairs.
We will then coordinate the appointment with you to minimize downtime and avoid unnecessary interruptions as much as possible.
What is included in the service?
All Key Services at a Glance
- Visual inspection of CE or national markings, identification plates, and seals
- Review of the measurement log, if it has already been issued
- Metrological tests to verify functionality and maximum permissible errors using certified test equipment in accordance with Ministerial Decree 93/2017
- Application of seals and labeling—green for a positive result, red for a negative result
- Transmission of the inspection results via a telematics system to the relevant chamber of commerce and issuance of the inspection certificate after reviewing the collected data

Das Verhalten von TopControl GmbH Eichstelle und aller an der Inspektionstätigkeit beteiligten Personen müssen korrekt, unparteiisch, präzise und transparent sein. Zu ihrem besseren Schutz haben die Kunden und alle interessierten Parteien das Recht, Beschwerden, Einsprüche und Berufungen gegen die Entscheidungen der Kontrollstelle (Kontrollberichte und Ergebnisse der regelmäßigen Überprüfungen von Waagen) in der im Verfahren PO 07 dargestellten Weise einzureichen.
